DEAD WEST with Kingdom Come

Marquee Theatre, 730 N Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281

DEAD WEST with Kingdom Come Discounted tickets $20 Ages 13+ Doors open at 6pm Kingdom Come was formed in 1987 by German singer Lenny Wolf. Polydor Records signed Kingdom Come to a record deal and the band’s lineup would include Wolf, drummer James Kottak, lead guitarist Danny Stag, rhythm guitarist Rick Steier, and bassist Johnny B. Frank. Their music has been described as hard rock with early blues-based influences. In 1988 their first single “Get It On” exploded at AOR radio, prompting their self-titled debut album Kingdom Come to ship gold. They released 2 more singles from the album, embarked on a sold-out European tour, and were invited to open for the North American Monsters of Rock Tour 1988. The festival was performed at stadiums across the United States in front of massive crowds. They later supported Scorpions on their North American “Savage Amusement” tour and performed in Japan with Bon Jovi and Ratt as well as their own headlining tour. In 1989, Kingdom Come released their second album In Your Face which sold almost 500,000 copies. They released three singles from the album and toured in support of it. While on tour the band would abruptly break up due to personal reasons. Lenny Wolf would carry on under the Kingdom Come banner with a revolving door of mostly German musicians releasing 12 studio albums and 1 live album between 1991 – 2013, mostly limited to Europe. During this period the other original members worked with The Cult, MSG, and Warrant amongst others. Most notably, James Kottak became the drummer for German rock legends Scorpions, a position he held for 21 years. In 2016 Wolf issued a public statement that Kingdom Come was finished. 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s classic debut album, which is their most popular release internationally. James Kottak has revived Kingdom Come along with original members Danny Stag, Rick Steier, and Johnny B. Frank. Although Lenny Wolf respectfully declined to participate in the reunion, he fully supports the members moving forward without him. The current version of Kingdom Come includes singer Keith St. John (ex-Montrose) and will tour in 2018 – 2019 performing their debut album in its entirety along with music from their second album In Your Face. Dead West are here to continue that legacy.

Harnessing a modern hard rock sound infused with gritty, whisky drenched rock 'n' roll, Dead West understand it's a long way to the top but have signaled their intentions early with hard hitting music that is as much a musical experience as it is a snapshot of their lives.

With personable, sing along lyrics and ripping guitar solos that breathe a life of their own, Dead West's music bores into your soul and surges through your senses, harking back to the days when rock music was unashamedly dirty and in your face.

Heavily influenced by The Dead Daisies, Black Label Society, Tesla, Jackyl and Black Stone Cherry, Dead West aren't content to merely recycle sounds of a bygone era, they choose their influential tastes with surgical precision and layer them with lashings of the American Southwest to create a sound distinctly their own.

Think the Wild West taking on Butch Cassidy in a sonic duel and you will get an inkling of the musical charm that is Dead West. Now throw some Cowboy Metal and a dash of Blues Rock into the cauldron and you can start to picture the musical landscape from which Dead West approach their craft.

Already having played with and supported artists of the caliber of Lita Ford, Bullets & Octane, Slaughter, L.A Guns and Jack Russell's Great White, Dead West are not merely content to ride on the coat tails of established bands, they are ready to BECOME one of those bands.

Anyone who thinks rock is dead should first give Dead West a spin. If you don't mind being proved wrong that is.

DEAD WEST with Jack Russell's Great White

Jack Russell's Great White with DEAD WEST

The Southern California blues/hard rock band Great White first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and since then has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and earned a double platinum certification for the album “…Twice Shy”. The late 80’s were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. Great White also recorded “Hooked”, which was certified gold and “Psycho City”. The soulful, blues-based signature sound, that turned songs like “Face The Day”, “Rock Me” and “Save Your Love” into international hits, can also be found in the band’s newer material.
